Well, we made it! I hope you all have had a blessed Christmas and have an awesome New Year. This year absolutely flew by, but 2015 may have been one of the best yet. From volleyball, to graduation, to an adventurous summer, to more volleyball and the start of this whole college thing. Meeting new people and writing new things while going to new places and singing new songs.. All while coming to so many realizations in my walk with Christ, 2015 was the most transforming year of my life and I pray that I can say that at the close of every year.

If you do not have it or have not heard of it, go to Walmart and buy the daily devotional book Jesus Calling by Sarah Young. It is an awesome, beautiful devotion and it will encourage and get you through all 365 days of the year.

So, what did I learn this year? This year I learned that you need to take advantage of opportunities. I learned to never set limits or doubt yourself; in reality, if you doubt yourself, you are doubting God. TRUST GOD. I also learned to listen and think, take in information and learn from it. I learned so much about myself and my faith and happiness and who I am compared to who I need to be. Most importantly, I learned to do whatever you are passionate about.

Passionate. /ˈpaSH(ə)nət/  adjective     Showing or caused by strong feelings or a strong belief. Having, compelled by, or ruled by intense emotion or strong feeling; fervid. Intense.

To do what you are passionate about is to go out and accomplish goals that you have set; no matter the obstacles, no matter who says you can’t, no matter what you lose, no matter who leaves you in the midst of it,  no matter what it takes, you are going to do it. Doubt isn’t a thing, because you believe in it and you believe in yourself. Having a passion means having a certain love. To be passionate is to be obsessed, to be so enthralled with an idea, belief, or person that you will do anything for it.

I, Maddy McGlade, am passionate about Jesus, missions work, adoption, volleyball, speaking Spanish, Royals baseball, and loving always. Most importantly, my passion is to change lives and get children adopted into loving, caring, Christian homes so that they, too, can live, have their life changed, and can fulfill their dreams.

You can have a passion for absolutely anything. God made every single human being so, entirely different. If we were all obsessed with a single thing, our passion wouldn’t be as cool. If we were simply desiring to fit into the world, we wouldn’t be a big deal or leave a legacy (Lego Movie is a great example of this… 🙂 ). You add so much to this world. Take advantage of that and do what others may see as impossible. You, little you, can blow so many minds, just because of something that you are passionate about.

A passion is a dream that- with enough desire, trust, perseverance, and Jesus- can become a reality. To be truly passionate about something is to be obsessed, enthralled, and in love with. It is something that you would love to spend the rest of your life doing, accomplishing, admiring, or spending time with.

I believe that if we do things we love and surround ourselves with people we love, life is good. We always will have obstacles and set backs, God does that on purpose. He is leading you on a path that is uniquely right for you. The closer to Him you grow, the more fully you become your true self. Your true self is the one that is exploring their passion and fulfilling their dream while strengthening their faith and walk with God daily.

So, in 2016, have a passion. Have a desire. Set goals and do something that challenges you and strengthens your faith. Enjoy the adventure of find yourself through losing yourself in Jesus Christ. For with Him, anything is possible. Make your dream or passion become your reality. I pinky promise you, you can do it.

Love always,

Mads ❤
